One Nation Under Prayer

America for Jesus links hearts and hands, Oct 22 as thousands come to pray for protection of nation. 18 hour event will be largest inter-racial and interdenominational prayer and worship uniting leaders, entertainers and churches. This is not a political rally but a gathering to pray for our nation in our time of crisis.

Sunday Morning may be the most segregated time of the week but America for Jesus is one of the most inter-racial, inter denominational prayer gatherings in the history of our country. For 18 hours, Friday, Oct. 22, America for Jesus will fill the Washington Mall with the faces, prayers, songs from around the world as tens of thousands gather to pray for America.

“It is not a political rally; it’s a prayer and fasting rally,” explains organizer Bishop John Gimenez, “We are not lifting our fists in protest but joining hands to pray that God would heal our land.” Bishop Gimenez has united millions in similar Washington events in 1980, 1988, and 1996.

Our nation is in critical need for prayer. This conviction has joined leaders, entertainers, pastors, youth and people from across denominational, racial, and political backgrounds to pray, sing and worship. Leaders include National Association of Evangelicals President Ted Haggard, prominent Washington Pastor Harry Jackson, CBN founder Pat Robertson, televangelist Rod Parsley and entertainer Pat Boone.

In the after math of 9-11 we saw millions of Americans praying for our nation, America for Jesus is a call to pray in for the protection of our nation and a returning to the beliefs that once made us great,” remarks National Director, Rev. Anna Gimenez.

The event on Friday October 22nd will begin at 6:00 a.m. and the evening worship concert will conclude at midnight. The participants come from over two dozen nationalities, with specific times dedicated to youth, international, racial reconciliation, repentance for abortion, prejudice and pollution.

Music and worship include - award winning gospel artists, Donnie McClurkin, Ron Kenoly and Joann Rosario; Christian rock groups- Desperation; worship teams and mass choirs from the east coast and beyond.

“It is important that we remember that God is not a Republican; Jesus is not a Democrat, America is one Nation under God. It is our unified prayer and God given values that will protect our future,” states Rev. Anna Gimenez.
