(PRWEB) October 25, 2004 -- On October 21, 2004 Stratopoint Software has released Framerate Converter HQ (FRCHQ) version 2.01 for Windows, the video processing tool that can accurately change video framerate, speed and frame aspect.
Conversion of video standards (e.g. NTSC to PAL or PAL to 24 fps film) can be quite a problem because of the method the most of video editing software uses. It causes certain frames to be dropped or duplicated which causes all motion to become "jerky". The only way to avoid jerkiness is to interpolate frames. Simple interpolation techniques that many video editors use help to avoid jerkiness but increase motion blur instead.
FRCHQ features 8 frame interpolation methods including the highest-quality Lanczos+Sine (Lansin) method giving as little motion blur as possible keeping the image free of interpolation artifacts at the same time. It is also possible to specify the interpolation range, it makes some percent of frames to be transferred from source to destination video without interpolation thus reducing motion blur. The program can work with interlaced (5 deinterlacing methods) or non-interlaced source video. Output video can be interlaced or non-interlaced.
FRCHQ can increase or decrease video framerate and/or its speed. There are virtually no limitations for destination framerate and for speed.
FRCHQ provides a way to define the output frame height using either standard frame aspects (e.g. "4:3 NTSC", "16:9 PAL", "2.35:1 PAL (half)") or by specifying it manually. The program also can fix image aspect leaving original frame size intact, in that case the output video will centered in the frame.
The typical uses for FRCHQ are: conversion of NTSC video to PAL and otherwise, making videos with any framerate (e.g. 23.976 fps) from NTSC or PAL source and otherwise, making full-speed non-interlaced videos from interlaced sources and otherwise, making letterbox videos from 16:9 or 2.35:1 squeezed source and otherwise, slowing-down or speeding-up videos keeping all movements relatively smooth and many other similar jobs.
Framerate Converter HQ can be used in making semi-pro advertisement or music videos, making Internet movie trailers, it can be used on television for conversion of video standards, for DVD/SVCD/VCD mastering, for home video editing, etc.
You can download the free trial version of Framerate Converter HQ from its homepage: http://converter.stratopoint.com. The unregistered version puts a watermark in converted videos.
