Beware of World Series Ticket Scams

Feverish demand for World Series tickets brings out con artist that prey on unsuspecting fans with too-good-to-be true prices on counterfeit, or non existing tickets.

(PRWEB) October 23, 2004 -- Insure ticket delivery by working only with licensed and bonded ticket brokers. Great inventory and Affordable World Series Tickets available at http://www.dynamictkts.com/ a licensed and bonded ticket agent that is Square Trade Certified ( www.squaretrade.com) and is part of the American Express Fraud Protection Guarantee.

With the feverish demand of World Series tickets there are con artists trying to prey on unsuspecting Boston Red Sox and St. Louis Cardinals fans, by offering ridiculous low ticket prices on an upfront payment basis.

Last night searching on www.Ebay.com there was two such con artist that we found praying on World Series Fans, with this too-good-to-be true scam.

Too Good to be True
The first seller was offering 5 World Series Tickets to Boston Red Sox Game 2 for an unbelievable price of $2,500 for five tickets. This is an unbelievable offer given that the next cheapest ticket was going for $1,400.

We contacted the individual to see how we could buy 2 tickets and the response that came back was as follows:
Hello sir, The price including all taxes will be $600 for 2 tickets located in section GS xx row xx ,for game 2. I must tell you that Im with business in EUROPE(LONDON, UK). I'll be staying here for another 10 months (at least), this is why Im selling the tickets for such a cheap price, besides, and Im in a very great need of time and money. I do not arrange for local pick up. The tickets will be shipped as soon as funds are attained. Shipping will be made via UPS supersonic air same day delivery service. My phone number is: ******** Ask for *****

Payment
I work with Western Union. Here is everything:
I will need your full name and address so Ill make all the needed arrangements for the delivery. The shipping will be made under FedEx's guidance(overnight delivery) fully insured. Payment will be done through Western Union. Please visit http://www.westernunion.com/ to find the nearest Western Union office, or just go to your local postal office and you'll probably find a Western Union office there. With Western Union, your money is transferred immediately, and usually arrives at the receiving end in 10 minutes while other services can take days or weeks. There are no complicated procedures and you don't need a bank account or credit card. To send the money bring some identification and fill in a short, simple form. Pay for the amount of money you want to send, plus the Western Union service fee. You will be given a MTCN (Money Transfer Control Number). After you make the wire transfer just mail me the MTCN to allow me to check the payment online.

As soon as the payment verifies your tickets will be shipped and you will get the tracking number to be able to track the package for yourself. I will wait your reply in order to close this deal. Let me know what do you think This is the best I can do for you. Reply me as soon as possible with your decision Thank you

Another Scam form Last Night
I kept searching and found another individual who wanted to sell me two tickets to Game 2 for $1,500 total or about half of what the going market.

This is the correspondence that I got when we tried to purchase tickets from him

First Email
I am sorry but I dont have a phone number as I have a language disability (car crash that left me with this disability and killed my wife 3 years ago) and unfortunately, I cant speak well, so we wont understand each other, but no problem about that as we can arrange all the details via email, thanks for understanding. Thanks.

Second Email
For the payment I prefer a MoneyGram or WesternUnion money transfers,
because they are fast and easy to use. As for the shipping, ill either overnight the tickets to you with UPS, or you can pick them up from NY, where I live. Both ways, ill require payment upfront. Thanks.

Third Email
I need to be sure of the deal. I need the payment today. Sorry. I am
receiving a ton of e-mails from possible buyers, but Im sticking with you for the moment. It is up to you. Thanks.

Fourth Email
Do you agree to my proposed methods? YES or NO? Sorry about this but other people are waiting with the money in their hands. Thanks.

Advice
Never send a, Western Union wire transfer or Money Gram to anyone you dont know, especially someone out of the country. Legitimate sellers seldom operate this way, scam artists regularly do.    If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Spend you hard earned money, like I ended up doing by working with a licensed and bonded ticket brokers. Great inventory and affordable World Series Tickets are available at http://www.dynamictkts.com/ a licensed and bonded ticket agent that is Square Trade Certified ( www.squaretrade.com) and is part of the American Express Fraud Protection Guarantee.
