GoS 2.0 was designed for real-time, converged applications such IP telephony, interactive video and other types of mission-critical traffic. The embedded software provides a simple and effective means of sharing limited bandwidth and guaranteeing QoS levels. It protects against unreliable application performance due to packet overload and efficiently prioritizes network traffic according to its sensitivity to loss and delay.
GoS 2.0 has very recently been tested by Tolly Group engineers and was found to provide predictable latency control while guaranteeing QoS for multiple converged applications. GoS 2.0 was also found to assure network scalability without over-provisioning, delivering 100% link utilization while preserving quality traffic and to mitigate starvation and ensure the robustness in ÂburstyÂ network environments. U4EA TechnologiesÂ GoS 2.0 protects, prioritizes and maximizes the number of real-time SIP sessions that can be delivered and carried, and improves the overall efficiency of the network. It integrates with SIP components such as application layer gateway (ALG) and SLA monitor that control and monitor SIP sessions between leading SIP proxies, network gateways and SIP devices.
U4EAÂs GoS 2.0 embeddable software is integrated with a software based network device via a simple operating system (OS)-specific interface layer. Interface layers for common OSs are available from U4EA Technologies. The embeddable software module has a management API which makes GoS easy to use: the network controller simply has to specify the packet flows and their required quality characteristics Â complex buffer allocations or queue specifications are totally eliminated with this QoS solution.
The GoS 2.0 Software Suite consists of three main modules that link together to provide a complete quality solution. The QoS Processing Core slots into the packet path and provides packet SLA enforcement. The QoS Configurator configures the core architecture according to the customerÂs preferred quality model. The QoS Monitor supports real-time statistics gathering, charting, report generation and quality predictions for SLA management. All modules can be customized to meet specific customer requirements. Additionally, OEM customers can use ready-made packages for the common scenarios of VoIP support, DiffServ compliance or redundant link fail-over.
