New Partnership Aims at Changing the Face of Aging
New nationwide business venture dedicated to assisting individuals, boomers, families, and communities seeking common sense solutions to issues that affect the dignity and quality of life as we age.
(PRWEB) October 27, 2004 -- The only way to predict the future is to invent it." So says Jeff Rubin, CEO and Co- Founder of Healthy Aging LLC, a new nationwide business venture taking shape in Colorado. Mr. Rubin along with Joni Seivert, Co-Founder and President of Denver based Connections Unlimited LLC expect to do just that as they prepare to launch a membership driven social entrepreneurial company.
America is aging and the issues boomers will be facing are quite different today than the ones their parents and grandparents faced," say Ms. Seivert, an advocate for seniors and caregivers for more than 30 years. Boomers are known as the 'sandwich generation often times caught between raising a family and dealing with an aging parent. In many instances those issues are dealt with long distance. As our society continues to age, the needs that boomers and their parents are faced with are increasingly less likely to be addressed by government dollars and programs alone."
Rubin, former State Director for Benefits CheckUp and a past associate of the National Council on the Aging shares that sentiment. The answers lie in questioning the status quo. We need to engage individuals and challenge communities to become pro-active in the core areas of capacity building, problem solving, empowerment and change."
The uniqueness of Mr. Rubin and Ms. Seiverts social entrepreneurial model is in their intention to integrate Healthy Aging Initiatives an existing not for profit incubator into the mix. The latter will serve as a conduit for the development and demonstration of innovative products and services. The ultimate goal is to generate a nationwide network of problem solvers, act as brokers of social capital and serve as a facilitator and catalyst in replicating models that encourage vital, purpose driven and successful aging in communities throughout the country.
There will be a networking celebration to introduce Healthy Aging LLC with a formal presentation on their company on Wednesday October 27, 2004 from 3:30 to 6:00 pm at the HeartLight Center.
