(PRWEB) October 28, 2004 -- The web-based business, http://www.babynut.com will celebrate its first birthday on November 6, 2004. Owner and manager of Babynut, Saralee Sky, says, I feel very much like Babynuts mommy. Babynut has grown so much in this past year. Weve had lots of growing pains and learning experiences. There have been sleepless nights and unexpected crises and joys. It is just like being the parent of a brand new baby!"

Based in Bellingham, Washington, Babynut does business solely on the World Wide Web. One of the biggest challenges," says Sky, is to reach the people who are surfing the web looking for my products. I spend a lot of time learning how to optimize my site for the Web."

Babynuts mission is to provide natural, organic and alternative products, nurturance and support for pregnant and adopting families, babies and toddlers. All kinds of families are celebrated. The site is unique because of its inclusive nature, broad product offerings and quotes of wisdom and/or humor found throughout the site.

Products for sale include: organic and unique maternity and nursing clothes, baby and toddler clothes, books on pregnancy, adoption, natural childbirth and parenting, childrens books and music, wooden toys and puzzles, puppets, gift baskets, baby carriers, body products, alternative medicine, astrology charts and clothing with astrological signs specially designed for Babynut.

Also for sale on the site are Topsy Turvy dolls made with herbs and a baby sleeping bag designed by Ms Sky. Northwest Washington products are showcased whenever possible, including Jody Bergsma prints and cards, Tom Hunter and Richard Scholtz CDs, Tree Frog Farm flower essences, Grace Harbor Farms goat milk body products and Alpaca Joe hand knit alpaca baby clothes.

Another special feature of the site is a free newsletter - Nutsense! - with articles on parenting or childbirth, book reviews, a featured vendor and parenting tips.

The importance of the first three years of life cannot be over emphasized," says Sky. This is when the foundations are laid for whether the child will see the world as a safe and loving place or one filled with danger and insecurity. Babynut is my way of offering information, products and loving support for families and babies."
