The technical conference on IBM WebSphere software for e-business, featuring WebSphere Portal, WebSphere Studio, Java, J2EE, Web services, XML, development, integration, and administration.

InferData Ltd. announced today that they are scheduled to present two sessions at WebSphere Advisor Live which will be held during October 30 – November 4, 2004 at the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront hotel.

Now in its fifth year, attendees will be able to dive deep into mastering WebSphere software, including WebSphere Studio, WebSphere Application Server, WebSphere Portal, and Rational tools. They'll find sessions on architecture, installation, administration, development, integration, security, and performance. They'll be able to explore WebSphere development, Java, J2EE, JSP, XML, Web Services, Eclipse, and much more.

The event organizers say that alumni tell them that they learn more in a few days at WebSphere Advisor Live than in many months within their typical work environment. The event’s expert speakers look forward to helping this year’s attendees learn, achieve, and succeed.

InferData’s Vice President, Unni Krishnan, commenting on his presentations said, “The conference is an excellent venue for us to demonstrate our expertise teaching the concepts of WebSphere performance tuning. I'll also describe some very pragmatic approaches to finding the potential bottlenecks in WebSphere applications.” A second session will focus on Web services security features, and details IBM's implementation of WS-Security on the WebSphere platform. "Companies struggling to find a secure deployment platform for Web services will greatly benefit from this session" he added.

InferData will present in the following two session topics.

Session ALW301: Leverage Web Service Security with WebSphere

Tuesday, November 2, at 1:30 pm

If we have to pick one reason why web services hasn't gained universal adoption among IT managers, it's because of the ad-hoc handling of security. Before the advent of WS-Security, vendors had their own proprietary implementation. In this session, you'll dive into the overall WS-Security architecture, and learn how organizations in the real world are using it to implement web services.

Session ALW308: WebSphere Performance Tuning

Wednesday, November 3, at 8:00 am

Application performance is always important, and faster is almost always better. In this session you'll learn how to analyze and address performance of your applications. You'll focus on performance analysis of applications running under WebSphere Application Server. You'll explore the elements that contribute to overall application performance, including hardware, execution environment, and application design. You'll learn a methodology for determining where the bottlenecks are. You'll see how to specifically address the various aspects of J2EE performance, including implementation, configuration, and deployment.
