New GUI Features and OLE Automation Support Make Prof-UIS Even More Attractive for Visual C++ Developers!

FOSS Software, an industry leader in developing graphical user interface components for Windows applications, announced the release of version 2.26 of Professional User Interface Suite (www.prof-uis.com), which is a popular MFC extension library for creating newest GUI in the Visual Studio 6.0/7.0/7.1/8.0 environment.

Salem, NH (PRWEB) October 30, 2004 -- FOSS Software, an industry leader in developing graphical user interface components for Windows applications, announced the release of version 2.26 of Professional User Interface Suite (http://www.prof-uis.com), which is a popular MFC extension library for creating newest GUI in the Visual Studio 6.0/7.0/7.1/8.0 environment.

Company Name: FOSS Software, Inc.
Company URL: http://www.fossware.com

The new version introduces two major features: OLE Automation support and Visual Studio 2005-like user interface. Automation is implemented as a COM library called ProfAuto. It allows the users to use scripting languages like VBScript for customizing and controlling menus, toolbars, and status bars. All properties and methods of ProfAuto are documented which, together with a how-to article titled "Scripting Support in Prof-UIS Applications" and ActiveScripts sample application, should help the developers easily use this feature in their products.

The second major enhancement enables the developers to use the GUI-related features presented in Visual Studio 2005 (aka "Whidbey") including the new look and feel and docking markers. A completely renewed docking algorithm now eliminates flickering and makes detaching and docking tabs more perfect. The library and samples are ready to be used with Visual Studio 2005.

Prof-UIS 2.26 Freeware is a free-for-non-commercial version of Prof-UIS. It is also compatible with Visual Studio 2005 and supports its GUI style and docking markers but it does not support docking tabs.

Check out the full list of features, improvements, and bug fixes in the version history section of the products website at http://www.prof-uis.com/VersionHistory.aspx!

Prof-UIS is a royalty-free library so its binaries can be distributed without any additional fees. To make the library more available for software developer teams, FOSS Software changed its sales policy: Developer team licenses are now offered with significant discounts.

FOSS Software has been successfully developing and offering custom software solutions and GUI libraries since 2000.
