Independent Artist Management Company Endorses Benefit Jazz Concert
Aboard The Queen Mary Long Beach California Jazz Enthusiasts Make Plans To Support Children's Needs
Long Beach, CA (PRWEB) October 30, 2004 -- Gorilla Opera today announced its plan to volunteer as consulting producer for a gala charity event entitled: A Tribute to The Ladies of Jazz
L. McMillan, Executive Producer of All Access Entertainment, also of Long Beach, approached Gorilla Opera with a proposal to help raise funds providing local support for children who are, or soon will be, orphaned by AIDS.
According to reports issued in 2003 by United Nations Childrens Fund (UNICEF), 14 million children under the age of 15 have lost one or both parents to AIDS. By 2010, this number is expected to exceed 25 million. Without urgent, collective action, millions more children will face enormous risks in their struggle to stay alive."
Gorilla Opera is thrilled, and honored, that Ms. McMillan asked us to participate. An important goal for us in this second year of our operation in Long Beach is to actively support outreach to the community. Since this project involves music, it really invokes our passion, and thats what we are all about," said Gorilla Operas VP/Director of A&R David Curry.
All Access Entertainment will present the concert on December 16, 2004 at 7:00 PM on the great ship Queen Mary. The show, written by L. McMillan, highlights the lives and artistry of Billie Holiday, Sarah Vaughan, Ella Fitzgerald, Dinah Washington, and Nina Simone. Members of the cast and crew include:
