Colin Baldwin dot com!
Australian industry pioneer and leading event production consultant Colin Baldwin has recently launched his new Internet site (www.colinbaldwin.com). The new site has also provided Colin with the opportunity of incorporating an illustrated and updated on-line edition of the '30 Year History of Rock Lighting and Sound originally compiled by Graham Harrison, Julius Grafton and himself before its publication two years ago.
(PRWEB) October 31, 2004 -- Looking back after thirty years in the Australian entertainment lighting industry, I was struck by the absence of any recorded back-stage history, and the realisation that many of the industrys true pioneers would not be around to recount their recollections between rehearsals for much longer", explains Colin. I wanted to add the rich experiences and technical breakthrough of so many talented lighting and audio technicians to my own memories of three decades of live production and touring. With the intent of staging an exhibition and publishing a permanent record at Entech in 2002, I approached Julius Grafton, and with his assistance and the efforts of Graham Harrison my concept of a behind the scenes industry anthology of the people, enterprises and technology that have shaped Australian live production over the last 30 years became reality.
All history is continually compiled and interpreted, therefore this fascinating anthology has been brought up to date for Colins website by Graham Harrison, who has included some contributions inspired by the original Entech print version and some contemporary material too. It is intended that the on-line history will be regularly updated attracting contributions via the incorporated history submission form. It is anticipated that this invitation will facilitate new on-line photographic and text contributions. Contemporary information on landmark developments thats significance is worthy of recording in the industrys annals is as welcome as material from those who can still clearly recall the last four decades. Add the site to your favourites so you can keep abreast of the people and activities that continue to shape the future of our industry.
