To Eat Or Not To Eat!
We need to listen to our bodies when is comes to eating.
(PRWEB) November 14, 2004 -- Obesity is now considered a disease, so people can get government assistance. Just like other addictions, first its a symptom, then it becomes a problem. You have a choice to eat or not to eat, drink or not to drink.
You can read a book on basic nutrition. It will help you put food in its proper perspective. Food is really any substance taken into the body to provide energy. It is a material to keep your body strong and regulates bodily processes. Thats All! Food = Calories = Energy. We take in energy, we use the energy. And how many different reasons (excuses) do you give yourself for eating?
In our society, we put too much emphasis on food. Every time we turn around we are eating; celebrating, depressed, stressed, Thanksgiving, Christmas, weddings, wakes, when angry, tired, sad, July 4, Valentines, birthdays, bored. WHY?
The body knows what it needs and when. The problem is, we don't listen to our bodies. If you eat cake (energy), take a walk, play ball with the family, go biking. If you eat steak (energy), go swimming, horseback
riding, dig a hole, cut lumber. Workouts dont have to be boring.
You can get involved in other things, in life. Get your mind off food. Do volunteer work. Take up a hobby; one where you use your hands (keep them occupied), painting, sewing, knitting, gardening.
The Food Industry and Marketers are not helping either. Grocery Shopping is hazardous to your health. Restaurants are hazardous to your health and rip offs. Vending machines are rip offs. Stand on any street corner, turn to your right theres a grocery store. Turn right again, theres a restaurant. Turn right again, theres a vending machine. Food is everywhere you turn!
There is an ad on television for a fast food restaurant. Im full!" someone yells proudly . Gimme a break! Restaurants give you big servings; salads are on plates almost 12 inches wide. Way too much food!
You can take control of your diet. Just remember it's you and food. Your attitude towards food is the most important. Then your eating habits start at the store or restaurant.
