VII Annual Linz Winter Workshop, February 4-7, 2005. Workshop will Explore Advances in Single Molecule Research for Biology & Nanoscience

The Institute for Biophysics at the University of Linz and Molecular Imaging Corporation announce the VII Annual Linz Winter Workshop. The workshop will take place February 4-7, 2005 at the University of Linz, Austria. More than 24 invited speakers will present recent advances in single-molecule research in biology and nanoscience at the annual event. Atomic force and optical microscopy and spectroscopy techniques will be included. Attendees are invited to submit 10-minute talks or poster presentations to give at the workshop.

Tempe, AZ (PRWEB) November 1, 2004 --- Each year the Workshop attracts 150 of the worlds leading researchers interested in the development of single-molecule techniques in the fields of biophysics, drug discovery, and nanoscience. Dr. Peter Hinterdorfer, Associate Professor, at the University of Linz, Institute for Biophysics and Workshop organizer, stated that the goals of the workshop are to share new developments in single-molecule studies and to provide a common platform for industry and academia to exchange ideas."

The AFM Winter School is offered in conjunction with the Linz Winter Workshop. It offers scientists new to the field hands-on training in a variety of topics including cell and recognition imaging, high-throughput screening with single-molecule sensitivity, and single-dye tracing in cells. The dates for the AFM Winter School are January 31 -- February 3, 2005.

On Friday, February 4, 2005 a one-day ski school is available for participants who want to enjoy a day in the Austrian Alps.
