The PeppermillÂs chefs have created menus that feature traditional holiday favorites as well as many unusual and gourmet selections that will please every taste and every budget.
The Coffee Shop, a localsÂ favorite for over 30 years, will feature freshly baked loaves of bread, a choice of soup or house salad, roast Tom Turkey with harvest dressing and giblet gravy, roasted potatoes, candied yams, garden-fresh vegetables and cranberry sauce. Dessert is pumpkin pie with ice cream. The Coffee Shop Thanksgiving Special will be served from 11 am to 11 pm. The cost is $12.95 per guest plus tax and gratuity.
The Island Buffet will offer many special Thanksgiving selections as well an array of seafood specialties and international choices. The carvery will feature rotisserie Tom Turkey, giblet gravy and cranberry sauce, as well as roasted prime rib of beef and baked ham with honey-mustard sauce. The buffetÂs hot selections will include traditional favorites such as sweet potatoes with orange glaze, a medley of seasonal squash, a string bean medley, freshly mashed potatoes with brown gravy, and wild rice pilaf with apricots and almonds. For the less traditional we have penne pasta with sun-dried tomatoes, smoked baby back ribs, baked soy-garlic salmon, and a huge selection of Asian and southwestern dishes. And it doesnÂt stop there. A huge variety of desserts will be served, including raspberry and New York style cheesecakes, Bacardi rum cakes, chocolate caramel pies, an assortment of cream pies, pastries, cream puffs, chocolate strawberries, and of course, pumpkin and pecan pies.
The Island BuffetÂs Thanksgiving feast will be served from Noon until 9 pm, and the cost is $18.95 for adults, $9.50 for children.
In RenoÂs Premier Steak House the special Thanksgiving dinner begins with wild mushroom bisque served with Stilton cheese and black pepper croutons. The soup may be paired with a 2001 Beringer FounderÂs Estate Chardonnay (California). The salad will be of fresh spinach with beets, walnuts Roquefort cheese and balsamic vinaigrette.
The wine for the salad course is a 2003 Bonny Doon Pacific Rim Dry Riesling (California). The main entrÃ©e is roasted Tom Turkey with sage dressing, buttermilk mashed potatoes, giblet gravy, a medley of fall vegetables and cranberry sauce. The entrÃ©e will be paired with a 2002 Ravenswood VinterÂs Blend Zinfandel (California). Dessert is a pumpkin chiffon torte with caramel-praline sauce, and will be served with a Taylor Fladgate 20 year tawny Port. The cost of this special Thanksgiving dinner is $25.95 per guest without the wine selections, or $35.95 including the wine. Prices do not include tax or gratuity. This dinner in the Steak House will be served from 3 until 9 pm, and regular menu selections will be available.
The intimate Romanza Ristorante Italiano will also feature a special Thanksgiving dinner in addition to its regular menu items. The soup course is pumpkin bisque with risotto cake and prosciutto, served with a 2001 Raymond Estates Chardonnay (Monterey, Calif.) The salad will be baby spinach leaves tossed with red onions, shiitake mushrooms and hot pancetta dressing. The salad will be followed by butternut squash ravioli with sage butter, and then an entrÃ©e of roasted Tom Turkey with Tuscan mushroom stuffing, mascarpone mashed potatoes, fresh seasonal vegetables and cranberry sauce. The main entrÃ©e will be paired with a 2000 Kenwood Zinfandel (Sonoma, Calif.). Dessert will be a hazelnut-chocolate tart with vanilla bean gelato and Frangelica chocolate sauce. Dessert will be served with a GrahamÂs Six-Grapes Porto (Portugal). Romanza will serve from this special Italian-influenced Thanksgiving dinner from 3 pm to 9 pm. The cost is $25.95 per guest or $35.95 with wine selections.
The elegant White Orchid, the most awarded restaurant in northern Nevada, will also serve a special Thanksgiving dinner in addition to its regular menu.
The dinner will begin with a cream of butternut squash soup with brie cheese and Serrano ham, served with a 1997 Au Bon Climat Reserve Talley Chardonnay (Arroyo Grande), followed by an arugula salad with smoked duck, fried ginger threads, dried cranberries and toasted pumpkin seeds, and a pumpkin oil vinaigrette.
The salad will be paired with a 2001 Black Opal Shiraz (South Eastern Australia). Tamarind sorbet with tangerine, and tarragon ice will be served prior to the main entrÃ©e of roasted Tom Turkey with sage, apricot and apple dressing, orange-spiced glazed yams, and a fall vegetable medley or seared medallions of venison with saffron cabbage, honshimeji mushrooms, roasted herb potatoes, and a port wine sauce.
The entrÃ©e will be served with a 2002 Robert Hall Rhone de Robles (Central Coast, Calif.). Dessert will be a chilled pumpkin soufflÃ© with cinnamon-nutmeg cream, paired with a 2000 Bonny Doon Muscat Vine de Glaciere (California) followed by chocolate truffles and freshly-brewed coffee.
And for its first Thanksgiving Oceano Seafood, Sushi, and Oyster Bar will be serving a traditional Thanksgiving dinner in addition to its usual menu. Start things off with a San Francisco Bay shrimp cocktail, followed by a classic Waldorf salad. The main entrÃ©e will be roasted Tom Turkey served with mashed potatoes, sage dressing, giblet gravy, a medley of fall vegetables and cranberry sauce. Dessert is the traditional pumpkin or pecan pie. The cost is $19.95 per guest, and the dinner will be served from 11 am until 10 pm.
