Billy Preston Celebration Attracts Some of the Most Respected Names in Music

Tonja Walker Productions will be honoring Billy Preston at a reception celebrating his lead character role in the upcoming film, The Derby Stallion. The event will be held at Santa MonicaÂ?s Loews Hotel in the Fireside Lounge on November 4th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Billy Preston, widely known for performing international best selling songs such as, "Will It Go Round in Circles", "With You I’m Born Again" (a duet with Syreeta), and writing top-charting songs like Joe Cocker’s, "You Are So Beautiful", will be performing at the event.

Preston has collaborated with some of the most celebrated names in the music industry such as Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, Sammy Davis Jr., Quincy Jones, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, and The Bee Gee’s.

Highly celebrated musical names are planning to attend the event; Wanda Vaughn of "The Emotions" and her husband Wayne Vaughn of "Earth, Wind and Fire", Evelyn “Champagne” King and husband Jazz musician, Freddie Fox and “Mr. Japan” Ken Yasuda.

Tonja Walker Productions is owned by actress/singer, Tonja Walker. Tonja is best known for her role as Alex Olanov Buchanan of One Life To Live. She has also played major roles on General Hospital, Capital, and has most recently portrayed Marie Green on Guiding Light.

Tonja Walker Productions will be marketing "The Derby Stallion", along with the film, "Stranglehold" (written by N.Y. Times best-selling author, Steve Alten) at the 2004 American Film Market in Santa Monica, suite 211, on November 3rd through the 10th. Alten is the writer of the screenplay MEG, which was recently optioned by Producers Lloyd Levin and Larry Gordon. Guillermo Del Toro will serve as Executive Producer along with Jan de Bont set to direct the upcoming film.
