“Twist In the City” Multi-City Media Tour Continues in New York City, Providing Answers to Design-Challenged City Dwellers

Internationally-known interior designer Sharne Algotsson heeds the cry for design help from everyday people in the throws of gentrification--new to in-town living

Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) November 4, 2004

Calling all of New York City’s style-conscious but design challenged: there is finally hope for your loft, in-town apartment, townhouse or condo! Interior designer and author of City Living: Creative Ideas For the New Urban Home (Rockport), Sharne Algotsson, will be in the Big Apple during the month of November to share her high-end décor secrets with everyday people wondering just how to make their space look fit for a celebrity. It’s all part of her “Twist in the City” four-city media tour which kicked off in Philadelphia last month.

The idea behind “Twist in the City” is to take Sharne’s upscale interior design knowledge to the city streets where everyday people have common, in-town living, design dilemmas. The media tour was conceived to answer the cry of suburbanites-turned-urbanites who have found themselves a part of the gentrification trend, which is taking over in even some of the most unlikely cities in the United States.

The media tour is named for the hip furniture, lifestyle and design boutique called Twist in Philadelphia, PA, which she co-owns. It is nestled in the heart of a cozy and trendy district in Center City on Pine Street. After the Philadelphia show, Sharne will visit New York in November, Los Angeles in December and a select city in the south, yet to be determined, in the New Year.

Sharne will give your viewers, readers and listeners tips on

-Modernizing and upgrading older structures

-How to “tame” large spaces

-How to make small spaces look larger with furniture

-Using lighting, color and mirrors to manipulate space

-Personalizing entryways

-How to select the right furniture to create the right feeling in your home

-Tapping into the senses: using color, aromas and fragrances to create a mood

-How to make your place look like you’ve spent a million, but you really haven’t

-How to keep your home fresh and free from the outside world

Sharne has been featured on HG TV Network, African Design in American Homes, The Discovery Network’s Christopher Lowell Show, B. Smith with Style and HG TV’s Design Basics and Smart Design.
