Little or no child support, bad credit, imprisoned son, divorce, family, but the struggles did not keep her down. Priscilla one of seven children was born to Elijah and Johnnie Mae Everette in Gramtham, North Carolina. Although her father could not read or write and her mother had an eleventh grade education, Priscilla finished in the top ten of her high school class. She was able to further her education by obtaining an Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts at Louisburg College, Louisburg, North Carolina and her Bachelor Degree in Physical Education from Methodist College, Fayetteville, North Carolina. With God’s grace and mercy, she had taken the struggles in her life and used them to move her forward. She created her own publishing company in 1999 because she did not have the financial resources to have her books published. New Beginnings: Poems of Inspiration begins with a mini autobiography of her life. Priscilla was finally beginning to deal with being a victim of sexual abuse by a family member. After holding on to the guilt for over forty years, Priscilla is finally able to start a new beginning. She prays that this collection of poems will help other come to conquer the inner struggles that sometime overwhelm and consume us.
Family and Friends: Poems From the Heart are a collection of poems that shows how allowing God to be your foundation changes the struggles to victories. Family, friends, tragedies and God inspired these collections of poems. Although Priscilla is understanding and managing her struggles in positive ways, she understanding that it is always a constant battle that she must always work at overcoming.
