Richard W. Wolfe Nominated to World Health Organization Commission on Social Determinants of Health, Geneva Switzerland

In response to the Global Call for Nominations by the Director-General of the World Health Organization, Dr. LEE Jong-wook of the Republic of Korea, Richard W. Wolfe of the United States has been nominated for a position as Commissioner on the World Health Organization's Commission on Social Determinants of Health.

Washington, D.C. (PRWEB) November 11, 2004 -- Richard W. Wolfe of the United States has been nominated for a position as Commissioner on the World Health Organization's Commission on Social Determinants of Health. In February 2004 Mr. Wolfe was voted 2003 Businessman of the Year by the National Republican Congressional Committee, is a member of the NRCC Business Advisory Council and was nominated to serve as one of Georgia's Voting Delegates at the 2004 NRCC Tax Summit held March 31st and April 1st 2004 in conjunction with the Businessman of the Year award ceremony.

Mr. Wolfe, a thirty-year health care professional, has participated in policy development and has written Medicaid and other health care legislation while serving as Counsel for the Majority Leader of the Georgia Senate. During this period Mr. Wolfe developed new programs which earned broad recognition for innovation and expertise. Mr. Wolfe is the former CEO, Vice-Chairman, and Chairman of the Executive Committee of Comprehensive Care Corporation, a New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) listed hospital company. Mr. Wolfe has also represented health care clients as an expert in health care law. Mr. Wolfe presently owns, manages or leases through private companies, nursing facilities in Florida and Georgia. Included in the group is the highly acclaimed Sunrise Health Center, which is Florida's largest proprietary long-term care facility with 325 beds. Sunrise was voted Best Nursing Home In South Florida" as part of the Florida Medical Business Awards. Mr. Wolfe is a former Director of the Georgia Health Care Association and is a current member in good standing of the Georgia State Bar Association, American Bar Association, Georgia Court of Appeals, Georgia Supreme Court, United States District Court for the Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia, United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth and Eleventh Circuits and United States Supreme Court.
