Just Say No to Boring Christmas Letters
Christmas letter writers can now get help with creative Christmas letter tips, ideas, and examples.
(PRWEB) November 9, 2004 -- Stumped by what to write in your annual Christmas letter? A new web site can help.
Christmas Letter Tips.com (http://www.christmaslettertips.com) provides creative letter ideas, advice on how to write a Christmas letter, and examples of real messages. It even helps users create an instant Christmas story using their own information.
"We believe Christmas letters should be fun," says web creator Lisa Howard. "Instead, too many people dread the annual arrival of cards filled with dull, poorly written letters. We want to help everyone have a Christmas letter that others will look forward to receiving."
The web site gives tips for those who want to write a Christmas letter, but also provides ideas for those whose skills lie in other areas. "Who says a Christmas letter has to be a letter?" Howard asks. "There are other ways you can share information about your family and the events from the year."
For instance, the site suggests people can send a page of photos with captions, offer a holiday quiz with multiple choice answers that give information about activities from the year, or create a Christmas newsletter with short news articles about family events.
And for those who need more help, the site allows users to create their own "instant Christmas letter" by using a fill-in-the-blanks form that automatically populates the user's information in a story that can be printed on the user's own Christmas stationery.
"People should read the examples first to get ideas on how to fill in the blanks, but basically anyone can use the form to create a personalized Christmas letter in minutes," Howard says. Users can also create a free custom Santa letter using the same fill-in-the-blanks format.
Once users create the letters and print them on their own Christmas stationery, they can find out how to add a Christmas touch to the envelopes in which the letters will go. The site lists information on how to get a North Pole postmark or a special Christmas postmark from approximately 100 US post offices with holiday-themed names.
"Our goal is to make Christmas letter writing fun," Howard says. "If you're not having fun, you're not doing it right."
