SAN DIEGO, CA (PRWEB) November 7, 2004 -- Michelob Light hosted a special film competition at the 5th annual San Diego Asian Film Festival (SDAFF). The first Michelob Light Flicks Competition" was held during the fifth annual SDAFF from October 20-24. The winners, Seven Oh Five, Directors, Roman Cortez, Tracy Tubera, and Chito Arrellano, were chosen by the festival audience and were announced at the Gala Awards Dinner on Saturday, Oct. 23.
We are greatly appreciative for the undying support that the San Diego Asian Film Festival has given us and for the opportunity they gave us when inviting us to do the Michelob Light Flicks Competition," said Seven Oh Five director Roman Cortez. It was our first walk-on-stage-and-receive-an-award award. It was literally a dream come true. Thank you again. We could not have asked for anything more." In honor of its 5th anniversary, the SDAFF commissioned five film groups, Cherry Sky Films, Commando Films, New True Talent, Seven Oh Five, and Touchblue Entertainment to create 30-second commercials. Each commercial had to promote the film festival and include Michelob Light product placement. The commercials played separately throughout the five days of the festival in the trailers before all the films.
Michelob Light has been a supporter of the SDAFF since its inception and we are pleased to continue our support for the festival again this year," said John Castillo, special markets manager, Anheuser-Busch Sales of San Diego. The SDAFF plays an important role in the development of Asian American film makers in the California area and we are pleased to be involved as the first sponsor of the Michelob Light Flicks Competition."
Michelob Light is one of the founding sponsors for the SDAFF and we are grateful for their continued support and generosity," said Lee Ann Kim, executive director of the SDAFF. It was a fun contest, and we were thrilled that all five filmmaker groups got so involved. Their short flicks were extremely creative, and I'm sure it was hard for the audience to pick one winner. We're happy for Seven Oh Five, as they've been alums of the SDAFF for four years now."
