Detroit Diesel Corporation (DDC) Announces the Addition of DDC Branded Off-Highway Coolants
DDC Powercool coolants are designed to reduce corrosion and protect cooling system components in demanding off-highway applications. DDC Powercool products are now available through the DDC distributor network.
Detroit, MI (PRWEB) November 6, 2004 -- Today, Detroit Diesel Corporation (DDC) announced the addition of off-highway coolants for sale in North America as part of its popular and widely available POWER COOLŪ line.
POWER COOL off-highway coolants meet all DDC off-highway MBE and MTU engine specifications and deliver proven performance in extensive real-world applications.
Cooling-system-related failures are some of most expensive diesel engine repairs and can very often be prevented with proper maintenance," said Daniel Haggerty, Product Program Development Manager, DDC. Installing recommended coolants in engines helps our customers reduce the likelihood that theyll experience these failures and significantly improves reliability and performance.
These products are compatible with the metals and seals in off-highway cooling systems."
DDC now sells three POWER COOL off-highway coolants in North America:
1. POWER COOLŪ Off-Highway Coolant is a long-life, fully-formulated ethylene glycol engine coolant that uses inorganic salts as the inhibitor formulation. It is recommended at a 50/50 mix with water and meets requirements of the TMC RP-329 Type A specification. The Supplemental Coolant Additive (SCA) is nitrite-based with low silicates. This coolant helps prevent inhibitor dropout, scale deposits and gel problems frequently associated with diesel engine cooling systems. POWER COOL Off-Highway Coolant is sold as a concentrate or 50/50 mix.
2. POWER COOLŪ Off-Highway 6000 is a non-nitrite organic acid inhibitor for use in marine and other water-cooled systems only. It is silicate free, contains no nitrites and has a recommended dosage at 7-8% by volume. It is recommended for use in marine applications that do not require freeze protection.
This product is intended for applications in heavy-duty DDC, MBE and MTU diesel engines. It offers excellent aluminum protection, excellent water pump life and is approved for use in Series 2000 DDC/MTU & Series 4000 MTU/DDC diesel engines.
3. POWER COOLŪ Plus Marine is a 30% concentration of antifreeze inhibitors providing limited freeze protection, to 20 degrees Fahrenheit. It contains a new formulation that utilizes a unique chemistry totally eliminating the need for traditional Supplemental Coolant Additives (SCAs). This coolant is a low-silicate, non-phosphate formulation that eliminates inhibitor dropout, scale deposits and gel problems frequently associated with diesel engine cooling systems.
These coolants are competitively priced and designed to reduce corrosion and protect cooling system components, enhancing overall engine reliability and performance. DDC recommends POWER COOL off-highway coolants for the most demanding requirements and they are now widely available through the DDC distributor network in bulk, 55 gallon drums, 5 gallon pails and one gallon containers.
