(PRWEB) November 9, 2004 -- Las Vegas celebrity chef Jacques Van Staden, corporate chef for Alize` restaurant and the Andre`s family of restaurants, will soon bring his long-awaited collection of world renowned recipes to an audience of the exquisite in a series of 14 DVDs that will highlight the best 140 recipes of his career thus far. The cooking show will be filmed in high definition.
Van Staden came from his native South Africa 15 years ago to pursue his career in the culinary arts, first cooking for the South African embassy in Washington D.C.
As a result of his impressive skills and an overt passion for the culinary arts, Jacques went on to become one of the celebrated chefs of the area, ultimately being nominated for the prestigious James Beard award for Young Rising Chef". After receiving numerous accolades and critical acclaim, Chef Van Staden moved to Las Vegas to open the exclusive London Club inside the Aladdin hotel, eventually landing a position with Andre Rochat, owner and proprieter of four of the most popular French restaurants in Las Vegas, where he now holds the title of Corporate Chef.
Under Jacques' direction, Alize`, Mistral, and 2 Andre`s restaurants have garnered even more praise for the already successful collection of properties.
After 15 years of producing some of the worlds most extraordinary signature dishes, Jacques shares the secrets that have elevated many of the finest restaurants in America to national acclaim. Jacques is estimated to have over 700 recipes in his portfolio, which will be condensed down to what he considers to be 140 of his finest. Van Staden will combine the technology of digital high definition video with an art that is hundreds of years in the making. This will allow the footage to be released in many different venues, over the internet, on high definition network television, in DVD format for retail sales, and distributed through mass television marketing campaigns.
Chef Van Staden has chosen Cheflive, a digital media company, to facilitate the multi faceted venture. There is only one company in Las Vegas that can do what I am proposing, which is to approach the cooking show market over all of these venues. My potential audience will be able to find my project anywhere they look, and only Cheflive could do that".
Each video will highlight a particular family of recipes, there will be salads on one, then a DVD relating entirely to scallops or Seafood, and one especially for sauces. These will be available individually and sold as a complete set when the last one is completed.
People have been asking me when I am going to share my recipes, which all the other chefs seem to be doing. I wanted to wait until I had a project that is something different than all the others, and the prospect of reaching the high definition demographic is really exciting to me"
The videos are expected to roll out starting in December, to be completed in the second quarter of 2005.
Van Staden has approached several food purveyors and cookware companies who have all expressed an interest in sponsoring the production for a stake in the advertising element of the project. Interested parties should contact the project placement coordinator at ppc@cheflive.tv
