The November 9, 2004 issue of Soap Opera Digest includes the ballot for the 19th Annual Soap Opera Digest Awards. Published continuously since 1975, Soap Opera Digest is the AmericaÂs premiere source of celebrity news and program information for all 42.5 hours of original weekly daytime television programming.
The Soap Opera Digest Awards are the only major soap awards where fans alone determine the winners. The editors have selected the nominees in 16 distinct categories including: Outstanding Lead actor/ actress, Outstanding Supporting Actor/ Actress, Outstanding Younger Lead Actor /Actress, Outstanding Male/ Female Newcomer, Favorite Couple, Favorite Villainess/ Villain, Favorite Return, Favorite New Couple, Favorite Triangle, Favorite Teen and Favorite Show.
To qualify in the final tabulations, the ballot must be completed and postmarked by Thursday, November 29, 2004. The ballot will only appear in this issue of the weekly magazine. Winners will be announced in a future issue of the magazine.
The Soap Opera Digest Awards enjoy a rich history of past winners including Anne Heche (Another World), Robin Wright (Santa Barbara), Kelly Ripa (All My Children), Mark Consuelos (All My Children), John Aniston (Days of our Lives), Vanessa Marcil (General Hospital), Rebecca Budig (All My Children), Kirsten Storms (Days of our Lives).
