Chicago Community Groups Host Harvest Time Food Drive
Chicago area churches are hosting the Harvest Time Food Drive to benefit the less fortunate in the Chicago area.
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) November 10, 2004 -- Chicago area churches Home of Life, New Third Heaven, and Good Shepherd will be hosting the Harvest Time Food Drive. The proceeds from the food drive will benefit the less fortunate within Chicago and the surrounding communities.
As documented in 2001 by Hunger in America, an estimated 23 million people, including nine million children, rely on food and grocery assistance provided by food banks and rescue organizations during a year. The Chicago Food Depository reports that over 36% of the people in Chicago who rely on these emergency feeding programs are under the age of eighteen, with 7% of those being 5 years old or younger.
Home of Life, New Third Heaven and Good Shepherd are asking people for donations of non-perishable food items in an effort to fight hunger. Donations will be accepted through November 18th at the following locations:
Home of Life Church
4650 W. Madison St,
Chicago, IL 60644
Good Shepherd Church
2735 S. Kolin Ave.
Chicago, IL 60623
New Third Heaven Church
7218 S. Ashland Ave.
Chicago, IL 60636
Thousands of people in the Chicago area are malnourished and in need of food and grocery assistance programs to stay healthy. The Harvest Time Food Drive will give the people of Chicago the opportunity to make a difference within the Chicago community. Donations will be accepted at the three community centers through November 18th.
