TheHVACSource.com Endorses EPA's I-BEAM IAQ Software Program

TheHVACSource.com has endorsed the EPA's I-BEAM (IAQ Building Education and Assessment Model) Software Program. TheHVACSource.com will both review and promote the I-BEAM software and related training materials.

Hayward, CA (PRWEB) November 10, 2004 -- TheHVACSource.com has endorsed the EPA's I-BEAM (IAQ Building Education and Assessment Model) Software Program. TheHVACSource.com was invited by the EPA and the Environmental Education Foundation (EEF) to participate in the EPA — EEF Advisory Committee for Indoor Air Quality.

The EPA has developed a number of guidelines to promote building practices that improve IAQ during the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of commercial, educational, institutional and large residential buildings in the US. I-BEAM is an interactive software program that integrates IAQ, energy efficiency, and building economics into a powerful management tool. Building managers, engineers and environmental consultants can all streamline tasks and information through the program.

TheHVACSource.com took positive note of the following I-BEAM functions: Access to a library of various IAQ issues and resources, set up of a global IAQ management program, calculation of economic impact of IAQ program, documentation of IAQ activities to reduce liability, and troubleshooting of IAQ problems using advanced search capabilities.

Accompanying the I-BEAM software is a Web-based, MS PowerPoint training module to bring users quickly up to speed on IAQ issues. The module is titled Integration of IAQ and Energy Efficiency in Well-Managed Buildings" and is based on the 5-staged Energy Star program. The objective of the training is to provide energy efficient and healthy building environments, and the program may be self-administered or delivered by an instructor. TheHVACSource.com is reviewing and providing editorial feedback on all training materials.

The I-BEAM software brings expert sources and multiple IAQ functions together in a manner that will benefit both industry and the public. TheHVACSource.com has chosen to endorse the I-BEAM program and will provide direct support for and access to the software via TheHVACSource.com Web site.

TheHVACSource.com is one of the largest HVAC industry portals on the Web and serves industry professionals on every continent.
