"Crying in the Rain" is a dark romance, set against the backdrop of the 80's, movie stars and rock-n-roll. De Taranto promises the experience will be Âlike nothing youÂve ever readÂ. ItÂs the story of Roxanne Simon, a successful actress and writer. And one impetuous decision to appear on AmericaÂs favorite talk show causes the accusations to fly. Insinuations are aired on national television that Frank Garrett, the lead singer of a popular rock band, is the father of her four-year-old son. And now it would seem that the secret she has tried so hard to hide from FrankÂand the worldÂis about to be exposed at last.
As Roxanne is confronted by her past, she struggles to maintain her mental stability while sinking deeper and deeper into insanity. Matters are further complicated as Frank attempts to give her a little push along the way. FrankÂs quest for revenge backfires and in the aftermath heÂs faced with his worst nightmares coming true. And ultimately, he must dig deep within himself and bare his soul in an effort to right his wrongsÂ
De Taranto states that while she was born and raised in Louisiana, she spent her twenties in Florida and New York City, where she crafted her debut novel. The author has a special fondness for the state of Florida, particularly the Tampa area, where she sets the scene for the basis of the novel.
What Others Are Saying About the Book:
"Sandra De Taranto has written a fast-paced book, with interesting problems and issues that most people never face. She has however, brought reality to life for her characters, making them seem like people we all should know. This reviewer felt as if she were following Roxanne and Candy through the press, and truly reading about the lives of the rich and famous. This unusual novel is highly recommended for the reader who is tired of the same old plots. " Angie Dodson for LoveRomances.com.
"This story has all the suspense that readers will enjoy " Louise Riveiro-Mitchell for The Romance Studio.
"Sandra has created a story full of passion, betrayal and deceit. YouÂll get lost in her characters lives as she takes you on a journey of self-discovery and the willingness to forgive " Nicole Getridge, author of ÂThe Heart SeriesÂ.
" 'Crying in the Rain' is an excellent book. Through it you will encounter the highs and lows of living life in the world of music and entertainment. In places it will break your heart and in others you will fly high with the thrill of the romance between two complicated people, each trying to find their own way. Both the lead characters of Roxanne and Frank are hard headed and determined to ruin each otherÂs lives while being deeply in love. Their son Frankie, comes through the twist and curves of the plot with amazing resilience; while Candy, the levelheaded sister helps brings their family back together. I recommend this wonderful book that is more than a romance, but also a slice of life. " Robbie Britt, author of ÂDead Men DonÂt DealÂ.

ÂIn Crying In The RainÂ, Sandra De Taranto has created a wonderfully crafted, complex tale of love, deceit, revenge and rediscovery that will keep you guessing as to which direction the plot will take in the next chapter. Recently widowed Roxanne falls in love with Frank, one of the founders of a local rock and roll band. A series of misunderstandings and an episode of extremely bad judgment on RoxanneÂs part cause a seemingly permanent break between the lovers. But, years later, after both have become famous, they get back together again...and thatÂs where the intrigue and duplicity begin De Taranto surprises us throughout the book, but the final twist will leave you stunned.
