Christchurch, New Zealand (PRWEB) November 11, 2004
Firetrust Limited, provider of award-winning Internet security solutions, today announced it is shipping Mobile Data Now, a software application designed to securely and easily present content from an organizationÂs databases and email servers to mobile phones, PDAÂs and other mobile-Internet enabled devices. Mobile Data Now provides mobile and frontline employees with the information they need, wherever they may be.
Mobile Data Now works by allowing a mobile user to access data residing on their computer by selecting a URL stored on their handset, this places an encrypted data call from their handset which is then transmitted across the mobile network to the Network operatorÂs data Gateway. At this point, the message is converted to HTTP and transmitted via the Internet to the Client CompanyÂs firewall. Mobile Data Now authenticates the mobile user and communicates with the company databases and email servers via TCP/IP and sends the user the data request.
Mobile Data Now benefits an entire organization by improving access to data, giving front line and mobile users better control, increasing worker productivity and most importantly cutting costs. Mobile users can access up-to-date sales and stock information, interacting with it as needed by updating, inserting and deleting records. Administrators limit level of data access to data by user so data security is ensured at all times.
ÂFor the majority of mobile employees, the single most important feature is accessing and interacting with real-time data and email securely while in the field. Mobile Data Now solves this problem, making it a cost-effective and affordable solution for all companies, said Nick Bolton, CEO of Firetrust. ÂA key benefit of Mobile Data Now is that it works with existing hardware such as PDA, browser or WAP enabled mobile phone without the need for special software to be installed on the client.Â
Aberdeen Group has issued a report in July 2004 revealing that about half the businesses that use mobile technology for field service operations are retaining 85 percent of their customers. Those businesses are using mobile technology for tasks such as tracking work status and transactions in real time and communicating with field service personnel. The report urges businesses who havenÂt already done so, to start moving to mobile technology for field service operations.
Mobile Data Now is a secure company-wide system for accessing all company data. Thorough itÂs Administrator Console, IT administrators limit levels of data access and configure Mobile Data Now for internal staff, customers and suppliers. Providing real-time up-to-date information boosts customer and employee satisfaction, demonstrably cutting costs and improving efficiencies.
Mobile Data Now been designed as an Âout of the box solution that is not only easy and quick to deploy, it also scales exceedingly well and integrates seamlessly into an existing company infrastructure, making total cost of ownership extremely low.
