Patriots for Gore Denounces Results of 2004 Presidential Election

Patriots for Gore - a PAC established in January 2004 to support VP Albert Gore Jr. and the social issues that are important to America, is announcing their denunciation of the results of the 2004 Presidential election via this press release.

(PRWEB) November 12, 2004 -- Once again the American people face a challenge that we cannot ignore. In 2000 our votes were stolen, our voices muffled, and our White House handed over to the loser as we were told by those on both sides of the aisle to, "Get over it." That was a grave mistake. For the four years that followed that indignation our country has been through terrorist attacks, preemptive war that shows no sign of end, economic downturn (to the point where flipping burgers is now considered a "manufacturing" job by those desperate to cling to credibility), deficits that seek to take our future away, and the subtle dismantling of our constitution that has been the life force of this nation since its birth. And not only have the American people suffered through these hardships, we have also had to watch as the respect, honor, dignity, and very soul of this nation were sacrificed at the hallowed halls of Halliburton, Bechtel, and DIEBOLD at the expense of our children.

I have always believed that the American people cared about this country and loved it. I have always believed that they would stand up in times of great hardship and challenge to defend it. I base that belief on past history, and it has been what has sustained this nation for 228 years. The struggle of our forefathers to build a great nation by fighting against the empire on which the sun never set; the struggle of workers to gain human rights and a decent living; the struggle of slaves to bring dignity and equality to their lives; the fight women launched to have the right to vote for the very policies that influenced their lives...These have been the great struggles that have defined who we are as Americans.

We now face the greatest challenges our nation has ever faced, which does not only include terrorism. It is also the challenge to preserve our Democratic Republic in the hands of the people of this nation. This is not a struggle merely to determine the number of votes of a candidate. This is a struggle for the very principles that define this nation, and to do justice to all those who stood before us giving of their blood, sweat, tears, and souls to fight for equality, justice, freedom, and Democracy. No, War on terror" should ever take that away from us. The election of 2004 is shaping up to be an election in which the powerful special interests and elitists in our government have joined together to give the final death knell to Democracy, and to spit in the faces of all those who fought and fight for justice. For true Democracy in the hands of the people is not what they desire. Their agenda would never survive in a truly Democratic society, and the signs of their plans have been there for the last four years falling on deaf ears.

We at Patriots for Gore then announce that we denounce the results of the 2004 election. We do not accept that George W. Bush has a mandate with 51% of a vote that is slowly being discovered to have been manipulated by electronic voting machines and other tactics designed to steal the votes of Americans. We demand a public investigation into the results of the 2004 election by Congress and the various states involved, and that a recount be done in the states of Ohio, Florida, and other states where discrepancies coming to light are too numerous to ignore. We demand an inquiry into the companies that have privitized our election process and ask for full accountability. Those companies include, DIEBOLD, ES&S, Sequoia, and other companies which provide paperless electronic voting machines that do not provide for recounts.

We also are disappointed in the early concession of John Kerry, and question why he would concede so early after saying he wanted all the votes counted, when not all the votes had been counted at the time of his concession. We therefore then also call upon the Democratic National Committee and the Republican National Committee to call for an investigation of the election results in states and counties where discrepancies are surfacing. To all those on both sides who have said nothing but that they want all the votes counted fairly, we say, prove it.

And for the record, let me also state that Patriots for Gore did not support John Kerry. We did not endorse him for President. This is not a partisan request. We as Americans need to stand up for the right of all citizens to have their votes counted fairly and to have the representation we "fairly" vote for lead us. We need our vote to be open to public scrutiny. We need to stand up for our country now more than ever. We then stand with all other groups in this nation standing up for Democracy to see it done, and we will not back down. Following is some information coming to light about this election that we hope will be useful to those reading this press release. Please read it, and take action to defend this nation from the attack on all that we cherish and hold dear. Let us remember the past struggles that brought us here, and do right by the memories of those who perished to preserve our freedom.

One final note to the American mainstream media: You have faltered in your job as a non-partisan purveyor of Democracy. Your blatant acquiescing to the powers that be over the best interests of the American people is shameful. Your covering up of the obvious deficiencies that have once again compromised the integrity of our Democratic process is nothing short of treasonous. What has transpired as a result of your attempt to blind the American people with pap over substance has now given us a nation divided with half of it resigned to complacency. However, you will not be free of your responsibility for this. Americans will hold you accountable. As Thomas Jefferson was quoted as saying, "The only security of all is in a free press. The force of public opinion cannot be resisted when permitted freely to be expressed. The agitation it produces must be submitted to. It is necessary, to keep the waters pure." Therefore, to those in our media who are struggling to keep those waters pure, we thank you. We need you now more than ever. The future of our nation depends on it. We must fight for free and fair elections here, or else any words along those lines regarding any other nation are hollow.
