Bracelets Support Our Troops During the Holidays. Fundraising Effort to Raise $1.0 Million for Freedom Calls Foundation

Bracelets to be sold during the holidays to raise money for non profit that provides video communications between soldiers and their families.

Minneapolis, MN (PRWEB) November 12, 2004 -- Jon Nelson decided the best way to support the troops during this holiday season was to get everyone to wear green bracelets that say SUPPORT OUR TROOPS" in red. The company is aiming to get 3 million people across the country to wear these bracelets during the holiday season, in an effort to benefit the Freedom Calls Foundation (FCF) based in New York.

Our goal is to have businesses, organizations and individuals to buy these bracelets and wear them to show their support during the holidays." Said Nelson.

FCF has helped military parents in Iraq attend graduations and meet new children. It has even enabled a couple of soldiers to get married, even though the groom was in Colorado and the bride was in Iraq. The foundation builds communication networks in Iraq and Afghanistan dedicated to keeping deployed troops in touch with family back home, all at no cost to the troops or their families.

The foundation was formed as a public charity because we believe family is important, particularly in wartime, and that is the least that the American people can do to show their appreciation for the sacrifices being made by our Soldiers and their families." Said John Harlow, executive director of the Freedom Calls Foundation.

The bracelets are available through a website Nelson has set up www.braceletsforourtroops.com
and are available in boxes of 500 for only $500. Our goal is to get 3 million bracelets out there which will raise $1 million for FCF, that will enable the foundation to serve an additional 30,000 soldiers in Afghanistan and Iraq." Said Nelson. In addition they have yellow bracelets that can be purchased in boxes of 12 for $36 each.

Nelson is hoping that larger companies across the country will participate and encourage their employees to wear the bracelets during the holiday season. For those with loved ones fighting for our country, being able to communicate via live video is the next best thing to having them at home.
