BJSL Introduces Island Thyme, Tastes and Traditions of Bermuda
The Bermuda Junior Service League is proud to announce the release of their new cookbook Island Thyme, Tastes and Traditions of Bermuda.

Island Thymes Traditional Celebrations" chapter offers its readers classic menus for Bermudian holidays and other Island celebrations. Recipes for the Tastes of Bermuda" chapter are a collection of over two hundred specialties that were submitted by active and life BJSL members. The book also features special contributions from local celebrity chef Joe Gibbons, Bank of Bermudas Executive Chef, Franz Wolmuth and Danika Pereira who was the Executive Chef to His Excellency The Governor. Rounding out the printed culinary experience is the Night Out in Bermuda" chapter. This sponsored section features nearly a dozen contributions of closely guarded recipes straight from the kitchens of Bermudas premier restaurants including; Fourways, Harbourfront, La Coquille, La Trattoria, Little Venice, LOriental, Lobster Pot, Pink Beach, Port O Call, and Bistro J.
What sets this book apart is the intensely rich and scenic photography, which was captured by the expert eyes of professional, local photographers Antoine Hunt and Ann Spurling. All food photography was shot on location around the island using with edible dishes, which proved to be a learning experience for all. Several other local photographers provided stock photography that has added rich culture to this work of art.
Island Thyme retails for $37.95 and is available through retail stores, restaurants, hotels and other locations Island-wide. Sales of the cookbook will be used to aid current and new community service projects, annual financial donations to local organisations and individuals.
