Innovative Approach to Online Education
Grantham University accepts transfer credits from the Community College of the Air Force.
SLIDELL, LA (PRWEB) November 14, 2004 -- Grantham University officials announced today an innovative approach to its online education programs for Air Force military service members. Grantham recently undertook a complete analysis of transfer credits from the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) and determined that CCAF students may earn up to 75% of an Associate of Science (AS) degree with Grantham by using credits earned from CCAF.
Grantham Universitys Academic Dean, Gary Sutter, Ph.D., said the transfer credit matrix was utilized to determine a one-to-one correspondence between Grantham and CCAF courses. He said we have evaluated all CCAF courses from the CCAF General Catalog 2002-2004 Number 16, resulting in a CCAF/Grantham University transfer matrix where a CCAF student has an excellent chance of obtaining an AS degree in all nine of Granthams undergraduate degree programs." Perhaps even more importantly, Dr. Sutter says, is the fact that CCAF students who choose Grantham University are that much closer to earning a bachelors degree."
Dr. Sutter noted that the technical nature of CCAF courses adequately fit with Grantham Universitys mix of technical degree programs. CCAF students can expect 75% of their CCAF credits will transfer to Granthams AS of Electronic Engineering Technology program (EET), 71% will transfer to the Business Administration program, and 61% to the AS Information Systems and the AS Software Engineering Technology programs. All other programs, except for Criminal Justice, have CCAF transfer rates of more than 52%.
He also pointed out that the 75% CCAF transfer rate fits perfectly with the schools transfer credit policies as the accrediting commission allows its member schools to accept no more than 75% transfer credits for both the associate and bachelors degree program.
Grantham University should be a viable option for CCAF students and graduates as its degree programs fit seven of the fastest growing occupations projected by the Bureau of Labor between now and the year 2010. Grantham University has served the military market for more than 50 years and has held accreditation continuously for more than 40 years. The school currently offers military services members its military scholarship program. The scholarship covers the cost of tuition assistance (up to the FY cap), the costs of textbooks, software shipped with the courses, and shipping. More information about the school can be found at http://www.grantham.edu/ccaf.htm.
