Lincolnshire Partnership Brings in Exciting New Media Company

Expertonline.tv have based their new venture in Lincoln after successful negotiations with Lincolnshire Partnership - part of the County Council - in a continuing effort to modernise businesses in the Lincoln area.

(PRWEB) November 17, 2004 -- What do Sir John Harvey Jones, Rosemary Conley and Kriss Akabuski all have in common?

Well, apart from being successful household names in their own right these people are all available to share the secrets of their success thanks to a Lincolnshire business venture 'expertsonline.tv (Eol.tv). This online company has chosen to locate in Lincoln, initially at Sparkhouse Studios. Entrepreneur and company MD Phil Crowshaw -- who hails from the northwest, confirmed:

Thanks to the vision of the Lincolnshire Partnership and its investment in broadband development I have been able to put my company investment into Lincolnshire.

Through the web and using the higher speed connectivity that Broadband brings, UK based rich and famous people are now providing their insights and inspiration to people around the world. I already have people from 24 countries are using Eol.tv TODAY. This is a real example of globalisation at work and I am delighted to be able to play may part in putting Lincolnshire at the front of the digital revolution.

Up until now Phil has been operating his business virtually but now it is taking off he needs space to grow - Broadband growth is now allowing multi media content to be distributed on the web around the world. But it wont stop there - Eol.tv plans to distribute content via Digital TV and Mobile phones and build a community of like-minded people from around the world who want to get on financially and be more fulfilled. The project has developed at quite a pace since its inception a matter of months ago, Phil continued:

Big business is waking up to the fact that they need to provide their people with access to new media based learning and development content - Eol.tv is already being used by BT, Pearson Group and The Sunday Times Enterprise Network to help their staff and members survive and prosper in the new knowledge economy."

A key aim of the Lincolnshire Partnership is to address the low skill low wage economy by creating higher value jobs that will allow Lincolnshire to prosper in years to come. It also wants to tackle the 'brain drain and secure the right kind of industry locally to offer opportunities to the Universitys graduates as they qualify in their chosen field -- attracting creative industries that use new technologies and new media is critical to this.

Prof. Brian Winston, Pro-Vice Chancellor and Dean of Faculty at Lincoln University -- one of the Partners in the campaign said:

We have invited Phils company to begin its Lincolnshire life at Sparkhouse Studios because -- as well as being just the kind of business the county needs - we recognise he will have a lot to offer to the younger entrepreneurs based at Sparkhouse and by working alongside him they will learn how to grow their business dreams and make the aspiration of Lincoln as the centre for new media using new technology a reality."

Partnership co-ordinator, Jane Crofts who works for Lincolnshire Development -- part of the County Council, explained that the combined offer of the Lincolnshire Broadband Project, Business Loan Fund and a determination of partners in Lincoln City to help businesses succeed clinched the deal for the county over stiff competition elsewhere. She said:

I am delighted that the Partnerships efforts to promote the business opportunities Lincolnshire offers are beginning to pay off. New technology and digital content, being produced and developed in Lincoln is now impacting on people's chances of greater business and personal success around the world, thats a real plus for the countys development as a digital centre. Put another way 'technological progression meets globalisation, with the rich and famous thrown in for good measure -.nobody can accuse Lincolnshire of being a backwater of agriculture anymore!"
