"The Road to Jude," A Novel by Michelina Pagano - A Wondrous Journey Into the Afterlife Set Against the Backdrop of September 11th

THE ROAD TO JUDE ($6.95; 127 pages; paperback; published by Treble Heart Books), by Michelina Pagano, is a poignant exploration of life, death, and love. Metaphysical in the questions it raises, it is a vividly observed spiritual fairytale. The Romance Studio calls it a wonderful story for those who believe in the hereafter or not (that will touch) all who remember that fateful day," Love Romances calls it a book that will make readers "think and wonder...[and will offer hope and a deeper meaning to any who have lost a loved one" and Selena Robins, author of Sabrina's Destiny, says "this book reminds us all, that every single human being on earth has significance and that even in inexplicable tragedy we are connected to one another."

(PRWEB) November 22, 2004 -- In this inspirational fable for our times, a young woman wakes up one morning to find herself in a strange world made of concrete, possessing no knowledge of who she is. Read more at www.michelinapagano.com

Venturing out into this unfamiliar land, she encounters a nameless man, a fireman by the uniform he is wearing. She calls him Hero; he names her Pretty One. Together these lost souls begin a journey through their new reality, traveling down a pavement stretching without limit through a bewildering terrain with no familiar signposts or landmarks. In their quest to find their identities, they encounter a magical realm-one filed with paper stars and paper snow, rainbow-leafed trees, a small boy named Possibility, and a deserted city where shoes fall from the sky. When Pretty One finally fulfils her destiny, she discovers the true meanings of Wisdom, Freedom, and Hope.

Like many New Yorkers, Ms. Pagano was directly touched by the attacks on the twin towers. Her husband, who was working nearby that morning, escaped the falling buildings; Michelina, who still lives in Manhattan, worked with the Red Cross, looking for the missing. That she found none affected her deeply.

Says Ms. Pagano, Just like cyberspace as a means of communication and discovery was unfathomable one hundred years ago, perhaps communication with the dead is just a matter of unlocking that knowledge. As we are in the technological age, I believe we are on the brink of the Metaphysical age. If things have not yet been discovered, it doesnt mean that they dont exist. I also wanted to explore the theme of identity: are we our memories? our possessions? our bodies? our friends and family? their memories? Perhaps death is not a place but a state of mind in an alternate dimension. In the end, my novel is about the spirituality that connects us all, whatever our specific religious beliefs."

Michelina Pagano is an award-winning advertising art and creative director, short-film director, and screenwriter. She is the author of a childrens book, The Magic Paint Box" (Golden Books, 1991) and the novel, Grace of the Clouds" (2002).
