UK powerpop upstarts Farrah return with their second album Me Too". After the success of the bands debut album Moustache" in 2001, which won plaudits from critics and audiences worldwide, the band embarked on two years of touring in places as far flung as Japan, Spain and France, while writing and recording the follow up album.
Me Too" continues the Farrah tradition of glistening three-minute guitar pop, explosive high energy and four-part harmonies. From the opening salvo of the ska-infused Tongue Tied" -- already setting the new wave clubs of Japan alight, with a video shot in Osaka -- to the Bob Harris favourite, First And Last" (currently on the Bob Harris Presents Vol 5" compilation), Me Too" is one of those records you play again straight away once its ended.
Daytime TV" explores the world of the Richard and Judy-obsessed couch potato, while songs such as This Is My Life", The One That Got Away" and First And Last" are bittersweet tales of love and loneliness, delivered with Farrahs trademark lyrical twists. No Farrah album would be complete without a domestic drama, and He Gives An Inch" delivers a Squeeze-esque soundscape straight from the late 1970s. Farrah pay further homage to their skinny-tie wearing ancestors with an intimate version of the Joe Jackson classic, Its Different For Girls".
Japan has taken Farrah to its heart, with one headline tour under their belt and another in November/December this year.
