Justin F. Kimball Alumni Association Achieves Tax-Exempt Status To Raise Funds For Alma Mater

Justin F Kimball Alumni Association, a high school alumni group of all graduating classes covering 45 years of the school, filed and received tax-exempt status from the IRS as a 501(c)(3) educational organization effective October 21, 2004. The Association will receive donations from its alumni and other business organizations to provide funds for needed projects of the faculty and student body of Justin F. Kimball High School in the Dallas Independent School District. The Alumni Association currently lists over 10,000 former graduates of the school in their database and soon to add approximately 8,000 more.

Dallas, Texas (PRWEB) November 23, 2004 -- Justin F Kimball Alumni Association, a high school alumni group of all graduating classes covering 45 years of the school, filed and received tax-exempt status from the IRS as a 501(c)(3) educational organization effective October 21, 2004. The Association will receive donations from its alumni and other business organizations to provide funds for needed projects of the faculty and student body of Justin F. Kimball High School in the Dallas Independent School District. The Alumni Association currently lists over 10,000 former graduates of the school in their database and soon to add approximately 8,000 more.

The goal of the Alumni Association is to provide the enhancement, support and promotion of secondary and post secondary curricular and co-curricular activities of Justin F. Kimball High School and its students, both present and alumni.” said Bill Britton, president of the Association. By achieving tax-exempt standing, the Alumni Association will be able to establish funding for scholarships and other areas that promote educational growth.

The Association has formed a Board of Governors that will partner with the Principal and faculty of Kimball to determine significant needs of the school outside of district budgets that will enhance the experience of high school activities and academic excellence for students. These considerations would include funding for class annuals, newsletters, sports equipment, mentoring and tutor programs and uniforms for club or team activity. Ron Sills, a member of the Board of Governors revealed plans are underway for a Spring 2006 Gala event to include all alumni from the inception of the school. This will allow the Association to meet the critical objectives set forth by the Board.” The event is anticipated to be a two-day gathering and include a celebrity brunch speaker to be named later in 2005.

While there are other alumni groups, both college and high school, the Justin F. Kimball Alumni Association is going beyond a particular class year to reach deep into the loyalty of their graduates for adding to the enrichment of student life and educational growth at Kimball. All students, no matter the year they graduate will be able to call the Justin F. Kimball Alumni Association their home far beyond graduation.
