Salvation Army Offers Free Food and Toys for the Needy this Christmas
Salvation Army to help feed their families this Christmas and let the children have a little fun.
Victorville, CA (PRWEB) November 24, 2004 -- As always, people in need can turn to the Salvation Army to help feed their families this Christmas and let the children have a little fun," said Captains Joe and Cathy Whipple of the Victor Valley Salvation Army office. They added, Last year we gave away 644 food baskets and 1,200 toys to needy families in our area, this year we hope to help more people."
From now until December third the Salvation Army is accepting applications for Christmas assistance on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at 14585 Lapaz Drive in Victorville. To qualify applicants must bring a picture ID for yourself and an ID for every member of their household, proof of all household income and a current rent receipt or utility bill.
The people of the high desert donate all of the food and toys the Salvation Army gives away. Last year people were so wonderful donating so much. This year we ask those who can to donate canned goods or boxes of food, toys or money to help more of Victor Valleys needy families," said Captain Cathy Whipple.
