Hunter's Moon and Shifting Love are Making Successful Paranormal/ Romance Cross-Over for Tor Books

Reader demand for the offerings from the new Tor Paranormal Romance line has resulted in increased first print runs. Critics and readers have been pleased and impressed.

New York, NY (PRWEB) November 28, 2004 -- Tor Books is experiencing great success with their latest line, a blending of traditional romance with a paranormal twist. From shapeshifters to possessed tarot decks and all things in between, the Tor Paranormal Romance authors are surprising and delighting both reviewers and readers.

Constance O'Day-Flannery has once again made the ranks of USA Today bestsellers with the first offering in the line,"Shifting Love." Publishers Weekly has called it "compelling (and) sentimental" and said that the novel "should please those who appreciate a traditional romantic plot arc." It also earned 4-1/2 Stars, Top Pick from Romantic Times Bookclub Magazine, one of the premiere publications of the genre, along with top ratings from other romance and paranormal reviewers.

The second book in the line, "Hunter's Moon," by newcomers C.T. Adams and Cathy Clamp, has also earned 4-1/2 Stars, Top Pick from Romantic Times Bookclub. Soon to be on the shelf, this book follows more closely on the heels of gritty urban paranormal authors Laurell K. Hamilton, Sherrilyn Kenyon & Christine Feehan. With over a dozen stellar reviews to its credit so far, this book is proving to be a worthy addition to the Tor family. Advance orders of this book owing to early buzz have caused the publisher to nearly double the initial print run. Following O'Day-Flannery's book onto a bestseller's list seems likely once it is released into stores on December 1st.

Anna Genoese, editor for the new line, was candid about her plan: "Since Tor Books is an award-winning, world-renowned science fiction and fantasy publisher, we knew that readers would expect the very best from us. Each book was carefully selected to appeal to a wide variety of readers." If these two books are any indication of the rest of the books in the line, the future of Tor's Paranormal Romance line is bright, indeed. The first four books of the line, along with their authors and excerpts, are profiled on a new page on Tor's website.
