Cavco Machine Tool Rebuilding Began Moving on 11/15/04
Moving day arrived for Cavco Machine Tool Rebuilding in New Milford CT.
(PRWEB) November 26, 2004 -- Cavcos new 18,600 sq. ft. facility is nearing completion, so crews have begun transferring machinery and equipment to the new location at 26 Still River Dr. in New Milford, CT. Since the new facility is in the same town as the current one, the phone and fax numbers will remain the same.
A condition of the sale of the old facility, was that Cavco could rent it back on a month to month basis, so the move wouldnt have to be rushed. This will be a key factor in a smooth transition. Moving without a production stoppage or slowdown is a top priority to ensure schedules for customers projects will remain on time. This takes careful logistical planning. The idea of having part of your office staff three miles away is cumbersome but doable. All in all, moving will not be difficult, but timing will be crucial to keep work flowing smoothly" was the sentiment expressed by Cavcos owner, Jim Cavorley. Some customers are taking delivery of their machine tools from the current location and delivering their next piece of machinery to be rebuilt to the new location. The delivery times for projects will remain the same.
The new facility is designed specifically for rebuilding and retrofitting machine tools and production equipment. It has high, clear-span bays with heavy duty overhead cranes to accommodate very large equipment. Extensive time is being spent laying out the new shop floor to assure the most efficient project flow.
Staff are eager to move and look forward to the modern environment once the move is completed, but Where did all this stuff come from?" is most often heard around Cavcos shop these days.
