Professional Standards Institute today announced the November 26th release of a new certification program for Software.

The computer software business is booming and new software programs are being developed and released to the market daily. There are literally hundreds of software download sites on the Internet and they are growing at an alarming rate. How do users know that a software product will not trash their system or install a virus or spy-ware?

Professional Standards Institute has developed an effective and unique Software Certification Program. “Our Certified Software Program will let consumers know that a software product is safe and meets a minimum level of quality standards,” said Gary Harris, Director. “Even trial versions from download sites could possibly contain viruses or spy-ware.”

The Software Certification Requirements cover 40 different items in seven areas. The areas covered include Installation and Un-Installation, Documentation, Program Operation, Security, Backup and Recovery, Reports, and Customer Support. There are five mandatory requirements that must be met for certification.

“Evaluations of software are conducted by educated and certified professionals with several years experience in the software industry,” said Gary Harris. “Software Certification is a win-win solution for both consumers and software developers.”

Professional Standards Institute is dedicated to the establishment, development, and preservation of high professional standards and ethics. For more information, please visit
