2004 Nobel Prize Laureate for Chemistry Joins Theravitaes Scientific Advisory Board

Theravitae has welcomed the new member of its scientific advisory board, Prof. Aaron J. Ciechanover, MD, D.Sc., Laureate of the 2004 Nobel prize in Chemistry.

Kiryat Weizmann, Israel (PRWEB) November 28, 2004 -- Professor Ciechanover is a specialist in biochemistry currently serving as a Distinguished Professor at Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, Haifa, Israel. In 1974, he received his MD from Hebrew University and Hadassah Medical School, Jerusalem, Israel and was a graduate in D. Sc. from Technion Israel Institute of Technology in 1981. Professor Ciechanover is a permanent member of several national and international associations such as The Council of the European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO), Asia-Pacific International Molecular Biology Network (IMBN), European Academy of Arts and Sciences, etc. He is also invited as a visiting professor to many renowned Academic Institutions worldwide.

Professor Ciechanover has authored more than 150 scientific articles and patents. He was granted the Nobel Prize for chemistry in 2004 together with Prof. Avram Hershko and Prof. Irwin Rose for the discovery of the ubiquitin intracellular pathway.
