Research and Markets http://www.researchandmarkets.com/reports/c10185) has announced the addition of The Taiwanese Cable Modem Industry, 3Q 2004 and Beyond to their offering
(PRWEB) November 28, 2004 -- In the third quarter of 2004, Taiwanese cable modem shipment volume grew by approximately 36.2%. Three main engines drove growth. First, new subscribers worldwide increased by around 21.5% sequentially. Second, Motorola and Terayon increased outsourcing to Taiwanese makers. Third, North American operators began aggressively promoting VoIP bundled with other services, thereby causing E-MTA shipment volume to rise. Subscriber growth in the fourth quarter will boost shipment volume and shipment value for Taiwanese cable modem makers. However, high oil prices, DSL operators' adoption of low-price bundling, and growing competition from VoIP providers in the residential market will likely impact Taiwanese players.
