Passionate Arizona SADD Chapters Launch New Campaign

Arizona SADD Chapters Begin New Fundraiser

Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) November 28, 2004 -- The students involved in Arizona SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) have the highest level of enthusiasm to live a positive life and are now thrilled to begin a great new fundraiser.

The program is being put in motion with the support of the American Cellular Donation Organization (ACDO), a non-profit organization based in Michigan. It provides SADD the opportunity to raise funds through the recycling of used cell phones. A system in which the community can support SADDs cause by donating an idle asset, all while protecting the environment.

When our ACDO program coordinator went to introduce this program, she came back astounded by the level of excitement the students at the Arizona SADD state conference portrayed," stated Vincent Serio, CEO and founder of ACDO. The students there were ecstatic about being involved in SADD and I know that is all that they need to make this program successful, " said Serio.

SADDs mission is to provide students with the best prevention and intervention tools possible to deal with the issues of underage drinking, drug use, and other destructive decisions. The organization was founded in 1981 as Students Against Driving Drunk. Almost all the members of SADD are either high school or college students.

National SADD has a partnership with ACDO, in which ACDO turns donated used cell phones into charitable cash thru their sale to third world countries and small retailers. SADD receives 100% of the proceeds from the campaign. ACDO coordinates this fundraising program for SADD chapters nationwide.

According to Mr. Serio, there are over 500 million idle cell phones in the United States, creating an abundance of product that can be donated and turned into charitable cash. Those interested in donating their old cell phones to support their local Arizona SADD chapter are urged to call (586) 524-2399 or visit www.cellulardonation.org or www.sadd.org.

Non-profit and tax-exempt groups interested in launching a cell phone donation campaign of their own in order to raise funds are asked to email info@cellulardonation.org or call (888) 863-2355.
