What do you do when you see a prostitute on the street? If you are with a buddy you may make a snide remark and walk on. If you are on your own you may take a second shy look, especially if she is young and beautiful, but still walk on. If she was obviously in trouble would you look the other way, while wondering about her and who she was? Would you feel guilty? Why?

An exciting new author had such an experience in his past and felt guilt for driving past a young girl shivering uncontrollably on the street. He often wondered what happened to her, who she was and how she came to be what she was. More to the point, he wondered what would have happened if he had tried to help. He has used that experience to write a novel (Jim, Where Are You?)and has taken the tragic road of such an experience. The road touches on the cruelty these young girls endure, leads to pursuit and murder and anguish for a young wife and mother waiting for her man to come home and knowing something terrible has happened to him. It also leads a police sargeant and a pastor on a quest, that has many twists, to determine what happened that fateful night and, if possible, bring the culprits to justice.

The novel is fairly easy reading, reasonably fast paced and full of emotion. It has sorrow and also joy, it can warm your heart at the strong bond of love between a young clean-cut couple who were teenage sweethearts and each others first love, it can surprise you at the lack of compassion of a some police, and fill your heart with gladness that there are others more than willing to pick up the slack, it can make you laugh and also make you cry.

The author has included a full chapter and part of another as an excerpt in his webpage (See the URL below). Those who have read the book say at times they just couldn't put it down, those who have just read the excerpt on his web page say they can't wait to get the book to complete the experience.

The book ISBN# is 1-4137-3399-9 and the book may be obtained direct from the publisher, Publish America, or through the authors website at pjmccormick.net.
