David Ciociola Begins New Round Of Major League Contract Talks

Ciociola and his new agent are moving forward, notifying teams that he's weighing options. At the end of the day, though, it will all come down to the best terms.

London (PRWEB) December 2, 2004 -- David Ciociola, 26, has announced his intent to negotiate a new Major League Baseball ( MLB ) contract for the 2005 season. Previously in MLB, he played with both the Montreal Expos and the New York Yankees organizations, though he was not fully utilized as an active roster player. He also played professionally in Venezuela with the Tigres de Aragua.

A switch hitter, he can bat from both sides of the plate. He's an infielder capable of playing at the Short position. Equally important, he has the ability to work well in the Outfield.

Ciociola and his new agent, Terrence Norman, will begin discussions with MLB teams starting in December.

"We're taking spring training serious, feeling that it does make a difference, especially later in the season. David needs to be totally involved in spring training. He wants to play well and win games. If necessary, we're prepared to take an early season assignment into the minors to address his mechanics. Ideally though, David will be on a Major League team when play commences," observes his agent.
