"InfoYou" Survey to Yield Tool Kits for Taming Information Overload

Metaforix Infomaven Lois C. Ambash announces broad testing of InfoYou, an instrument for assessing and addressing information overload. InfoYou will yield information tool kits for reducing information overload, based on personal information-handling styles and preferences. People who complete the online survey at www.surveymonkey.com/infoyou receive a thank-you PDF download, "Infomaven's Top Ten Free and Inexpensive Tools for Taming Information Overload Online."

New York, NY (PRWEB) December 1, 2004 -- Early tests of "InfoYou," an instrument for assessing and addressing information overload, reveal that 76.5% of respondents are dissatisfied with the time they spend or the tools available to them for handling information. Metaforix Incorporated, a New York information services consulting firm, has just opened InfoYou to broad-based testing by posting the questionnaire online at http://www.surveymonkey.com/infoyou. Everyone concerned about information overload is invited to complete the InfoYou questionnaire.

"InfoYou is designed to yield personalized information tool kits to help people and organizations tame information overload, based on their own styles and preferences for dealing with information," according to Dr. Lois C. Ambash, President and Chief Infomaven of Metaforix and InfoYou's primary researcher. "Most people find the InfoYou questionnaire enjoyable and are able to complete it in fifteen minutes or less, so were hoping for a large response in this latest round of testing."

The goal of the Metaforix study is to develop a series of information management profiles that reflect distinct individual styles. Based on the profiles, InfoYou information tool kits will boost personal productivity through targeted suggestions for collecting, storing, retrieving, and sharing information.

"The University of California at Berkeley's annual study on information production reports that enough new information was produced in 2003 alone to fill 37,000 Library-of-Congress-size libraries," Ambash said. "With information growing at that pace, it's important for all of us to learn how to handle information less stressfully and more effectively."

To express its appreciation to those who complete the questionnaire, Metaforix is offering a free PDF download, "Infomaven's Top Ten Free and Inexpensive Tools for Taming Information Overload Online." In addition, participants may enter a drawing for a $100 Amazon.com gift certificate.
