Santa Barbara, CA (PRWEB) December 4, 2004 -- A new website that invites creative ideas for world peace was launched today. The new site, www.peacebombs.us asks visitors to submit answers to this question: "What is your vision of the positive equivalent of the Atom Bomb?"
Jeff Hutner, a documentary film maker and one of the site's founders, remarks, "For a long time, I have been saddened by the images of war and the death of soldiers and innocent civilians in Iraq. I am hopeful the upcoming elections will bring peace and stability to Iraq and the world."
Wanting to take some positive action and believing that peace starts with each one of us, I thought about offering a website forum for powerful and visionary peace solutions. "Peace bombs" germinated from the thought that the world needs more positive images and ideas to offset the barrage of negative news permeating mass media.
Hutner invited his friend and colleague, Wayne Marshall, a website developer, to help design and implement the Peace Bombs web site. Marshall remarks, "In this case, the .us stands for all of us, not just the U.S and we invite global citizens around the world to contribute their ideas as well. Because we are all citizens of planet earth, our home page animation represents the collective power of our individual peace bomb ideas, each contributing to a positive and sustainable global transformation."
"We know that the majpority of people want to live in a more peaceful world. We want to encourage people to stretch their thinking and share their most positive ideas for global peace. This is an opportunity to offer a different perspective from what is all too pervasive on mainstream news."
Marshall and Hutner hope that visitors of all ages and cultures will share their positive visions for making the world a better, more peaceful and sustainable place for everyone. "The Peace Bombs site is simply a place where positive ideas are shared with the world. If government, business or private citizens feel moved to act on one or more of the ideas presented, so much the better", Hutner said.
The site is now accepting donations for monthly gift baskets for peace idea-of-the-month winners (to be voted on by site visitors). A book of ideas for a peaceful world is part of the vision, with a portion of the proceeds going to selected peace and ecology organizations.
