Dallas, TX (PRWEB) December 6, 2004 -- Amy Carter, an attorney with the law firm of Baron & Budd, P.C., will participate in a panel discussion on recent 7th Amendment developments at Mealeys Fen Phen Litigation Conference being held today in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
The 7th Amendment modified the national diet drug settlement between Wyeth and victims of the diet drug Fen Phen. Wyeth manufactured the Pondimin component of Fen Phen before the drugs removal from the market in 1997, when a Mayo Clinic report linked the drug to serious heart and lung damage. Pending final judicial approval, Wyeth will pay $1.275 billion of additional funding to compensate Fen Phen victims, which will be administered by the members of the 7th Amendment Liaison Committee.
