Is Your Kitchen One of Americas Best? Texas Housewife Launches Search for Americas Best Kitchens
Everyday in America, a mom or dad, grandmother or grandfather steps into their kitchen hoping to prepare a sumptuous meal to satisfy the palates of sometimes hard to please family members. Now, thanks to Cathy Leslie, they can be sure of rising to the challenge.
Dallas, TX (PRWEB) December 4, 2004 -- We call it Americas Best Kitchens," Mrs. Leslie explains. Through the years Ive collected over three million recipes from every-day folks. A couple years back the best of these recipes were judged and the final product is a CD with 100 recipes from each state plus the District of Columbia."
The Americas Best Kitchens CD Collection of 5,100 of the countrys best 'home cooked meals is available through the website www.americasbestkitchens.com. Included with the purchase is a copy of the very first cookbook ever written by an American for Americans -- The First American Cookbook (Dover Publications).
Mrs. Leslies website also provides visitors with an opportunity to enter a recipe of their own for judging and possible 'Americas Best Kitchens recognition. Everyone has at least one dish theyre especially proud of. We want to pass along these recipes to professional judges. If they feel the recipe is worthy, then the creator will receive a certificate suitable for framing to hang in their kitchen and their recipe may be included in a future Americas Best Kitchen CD."
The idea to open up the Americas Best Kitchens program to the public was motivated by shows like American Idol" and Star Search." Cathy Leslie explains, People who feel they can sing or dance or tell a joke are provided with plenty of opportunities for recognition. We believe the same opportunity should be accorded ordinary people who prepare extraordinary meals for their families."
The Americas Best Kitchens CD has its own built-in search engine so users can instantly find recipes by name or ingredients. Users can also print out recipes or a shopping list for the ingredients.
Cathy Leslie concludes, They call America the great melting pot. Well, when you come right down to it, the one place where we 'melt together the most is the kitchen. This is where all the cultures that make up our great nation collide into casseroles, stews, loaves, medleys and more"
