New Year's Eve Guide NYCNYE Aims High in New York
Planning New Year's Eve in New York has found a home with the launch of NYCNYE.com, a resource for browsing, organizing and purchasing tickets to New York Citys New Years events for all ages.
New York, NY (PRWEB) December 13, 2004 -- NYCNYE.com, a one-stop portal for New Year's Eve events in Manhattan, has launched its website dedicated to browsing events, group organizing and purchasing tickets. The new resource, which has been soliciting event details from hundreds of New York City venues over the last three months, features events for both adults and children in multiple categories, including live entertainment, special interest, restaurants and lounges.
In a survey of last year's consumer experience, which was conducted by NYCNYE in the months of August and September, 41% of event-goers cited the lack of communication as their biggest concern in making New Years plans, while 25% believed that choosing from too many events was time-consuming. For their benefit, NYCNYE has created a planning area that allows users to register as organizers and invite friends to vote on events based on the preferences of the entire group. In addition, many venues selected by NYCNYE for inclusion in the guide are offering special discounts for groups that make use of the complimentary planning service.
Events publicized by NYCNYE cater to all ages and preferences and will be held at such venues as Megu, Bateaux New York, The Glass Pavilion of The Time Hotel, The New Victory Theater and St. Bartholomew's Church, to name a few. A sample menu of New Years treats includes spa treatments, helicopter tours, prix fixe dinners, luxury cruises, theatrical productions, concerts and themed parties. "Even if you are spending the evening at home, there are still plenty of happenings during the day," adds NYCNYE co-founder Felix Brutter.
As opposed to offering a regular listing service, NYCNYE only selects events that promise to be both unique and memorable for this New Year's Eve. After passing editorial review, venues are presented with a full administrative system for ticketing and a complete online profile that includes a detailed description of the event's appeal, high-quality images, menus and maps. Co-founder Mahdad Taheri believes the design and ease of use of the resource is not only a draw to users but also to Manhattan venues: "Venues have been quite receptive to the new product after seeing that they have full control of inventory and don't have to worry about spending additional money on advertising for New Years Eve."
In addition to its online advertising campaign, NYCNYE has invaded the streets of Manhattan with its "gorilla" marketing campaign. The friendly apes made their debut at Rockefeller Centers tree lighting ceremony on November 30th.
