World Class Entertainer Linda Gentille Headlines "The Sounds of Christmas" International Institute for Spinal Regeneration Fundraiser

World Class Entertainers, Marathon Athletes, VIPs and Santa Claus All Part of an Evening to Raise Funds and Awareness for Spinal Regeneration Research

Hamilton, Ontario (PRWEB) December 8, 2004 -- The International Institute for Spinal Regeneration will be holding its first SOUNDS OF CHRISMAS fundraiser on Wednesday, December 15 at the Renaissance Banquet and Event Centre, 2289 Barton Street East in Hamilton, Ontario.

Headlining this fun filled Christmas fundraiser will be world renowned entertainer, Linda Gentille (http://www.gentille.com) who was the protégé of Mr. Showmanship himself, Liberace. Linda, who has been recently named IISR Ambassador to the World", will delight audience members of all ages with Christmas favorites as her multi-genre performances ranging from soft rock, to jazz, to Broadway and Musical themes, to classical.

Guests will witness Lindas extraordinary talents including her ability to speak 9 different languages and mesmerize her audience by performing with one hand.

While in Hamilton, Linda Gentille will be visiting and performing in Health Care Centres including St. Peters on Maplewood on Tuesday, December 14.

The profit from THE SOUNDS OF CHRISTMAS with Linda Gentille and Guests will go directly to the International Institute for Spinal Regeneration, a Canadian-based fundraising organization that is dedicated to funding spinal / regeneration research with the sole aim of ending the permanence of paralysis caused by spinal cord injury and other neurological diseases.

Joining Linda Gentille will be performances by Heather Briggs of Hamilton and Priestan Ti of St. Catharines.

During the evening, special members of the community will be recognized for their achievements and contributions in spinal regeneration research, and will include:

•Dr. Michel Rathbone, a leading scientist in spinal regeneration from Hamiltons McMaster University;
•Dr. Shucui Jiang, 40, a research fellow in the Department of Medicine at McMaster University, who recently honored by the Chinese Government for her research in spinal regeneration.
•Members of the Golden Horseshoe Marathon, a team of 5 wheelchair athletes who complete a 210 kilometer from Niagara Falls, Ontario to the Queens Park in Toronto to raise money and awareness for spinal cord / regeneration research. •Jenn Stewart, who was studying to became a registered nurse when she was left a quadriplegic after a swimming accident in 2002. Jenn resumed her studies and this fall graduated from Mohawk College as a registered nurse (full story at http://www.iisr.net);
•A Visit from Santa Claus himself.

Tickets for "The Sounds of Christmas" are $50.00 per person for the Dinner & Concert. Concert tickets are available for $25.00 for Adults, $20.00 for Seniors and $15.00 for Students.

The doors to "The Sounds of Christmas" open at 5:30 p.m., with dinner being served at 7:00 p.m., and the entertainment starts at 8:00 p.m.
