About Nick Finneran:
Seventy-four-year-old Nick Finneran is a champion sailor, fly fisherman, world adventurer and confidant to three presidents. Nick spent his childhood sailing on Cape Cod. He was the quintessential teenage sailing bum, years before it became fashionable. After high school, he left the cold Massachusetts winters behind, and began a life journey of adventure that has spanned six decades.
In the wildly popular Staniel Cay (pronounced key), Finneran tells the story of how, as a teenager in post-World War II 1948, he and his cousin Tony discover a wrecked sailboat in the Miami mangroves. They rebuild the boat and sail to the Bahamas. The boys experience the tranquil life in the Caribbean before the tourist boom, but uncover a plot that could prove to be the opening salvo of the cold war.
About the Boat Show:
The Miami International Boat Show (2,300+ vendors) is produced by the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA), the principal trade association of the recreational marine industry. NMMA members, over 1,500 companies, produce approximately 80 percent of the marine products used by recreational boaters and anglers in the United States.
